Tifco Drops Out Of Running To Develop New Dublin Airport Hotel

Hotel sector sources have said that Tifco has dropped out of the running to design, build and operate a 400-bedroom hotel at Dublin Airport, leaving UK hotel firm Arora as the only company currently in the advanced stages of the process.

Damaged Process

According to The Times, the process of selecting a preferred bidder for the development has been damaged by Tifco's exit, with one party involved in the process saying, "It is concerning there is only one company proceeding to the next stage of the tender. It is time to reopen the process and ensure a proper competitive tender is run in the interests of getting the right result for users of Dublin Airport."

The winning bidder for the project will be required to submit new plans for the hotel due to the fact that the existing planning permission for the development is scheduled to expire in March of 2019.
