TMR Hotel Collection Acquires Tallaght Cross Hotel

Austrian investor Thomas Röggla's TMR Hotel Collection has announced that it has acquired the 186-bedroom Tallaght Cross Hotel.

TMR is now planning a multi-million euro refurbishment of the property, which is located in the south Dublin town of Tallaght, and plans to re-open the venue as a four-star hotel in early 2020.

The Tallaght Cross Hotel is TMR's third hotel acquisition in Ireland this year following its acquisitions of the Plaza Hotel, also located in Tallaght, and Harvey's Point of Co. Donegal.

The group's acquisition and investment expenditure in these three hotels will be close to €60 million.

"Delighted"

Director of TMR Hotel Collection and Davy Real Estate, which is the group's representative in Ireland, Eimear Fox stated, "We are delighted to have completed the purchase of Tallaght Cross Hotel, which we expect to re-open in early 2020, creating over 70 permanent jobs. Over the coming months, we will implement a multi-million euro investment programme at our Tallaght Cross and Plaza Tallaght hotels, which we see as a major vote of confidence in the area and a substantial boost to tourism and the local economy."
