Twelve Hotel Welcomes Micil Distillery To Nóin For Galway Race Week

The Twelve Hotel has announced it is currently hosting a Micil Distillery courtyard takeover at Nóin, it's outdoor space.

The launch officially took place on Friday 28th July, welcoming guests just in time for the upcoming Galway Races Summer Festival from 31st July to 6th August 2023.

Sixth-Generation Distillers

Micil Distillery, the sixth-generation distillers began distilling illicit poitín in 1848 on a Connemara hillside and have since been crafting Irish spirits on the shores of Galway Bay including Connemara Irish Cream Liqueur, Micil Irish Poitín along with Irish Gin and Whiskey.

The distillery said it produces a primarily peated whiskey to reflect the terroir of native Connemara along with 100% Irish barley, oats, wheat, and rye sourced as close to home as possible.

'Mutual Love And Passion'

To celebrate the Galway races the Micil Distillery pop up will be open every day from noon till late until Monday, 7th August, and then every afternoon Friday, Saturday, and Sunday thereafter.

The Twelve Hotel and Micil Distillery said their collaboration will celebrate their 'mutual love and passion' for the bounty of their home region.

Micil Cocktails

Six cocktails will be available over the next days, all with a nod to the West of Ireland, this will include Connemara Cold Brew, Irish Whiskey Sour and Earls Island Old-Fashioned.

The Micil cocktails can be enjoyed underneath vintage Dutch chandeliers with curated playlists.

The terrace is heated when required by a carbon panel heating system and guests can order from The Pins Gastro Bar and The Twelve’s wine list.
