Kildare Hotel Applies For Planning Permission; Former Clonmel Arms Hotel Sold
Kildare's four-star Osprey Hotel and Spa in Naas, has applied for planning permission for the construction of an additional 24 bedrooms spread over three-storeys to the side of the hotel.
The application, filed with Kildare County Council, is also seeking the redistribution of the hotels existing 32 car parking spaces, reports leinsterleader.ie.
Elsewhere, the former Clonmel Arms Hotel has been sold by NAMA, reports nationalist.ie. At a recent Clonmel Borough District meeting, County Council District administrator Paul Murray said "It's no longer in NAMA's hands" and describing the sale as "a work in progress."
The hotel, which closed around eleven years ago, had previously been put on the market nearly two years ago with a guide price of €500,000, however it was ultimately withdrawn from sale. The property has planning permission lasting until 2019, allowing for the construction of a 450-space multi-storey car park, offices and retail space.
