Lobster, Mexican And Greek Restaurants Open In Dublin; Gastropub Opens In Carlow
Cava Gasto Pub on Tullow Street in Carlow has opened and will be specialising in gins, whiskeys, wines and cocktails. Drink options include Hendrick's Gin; Yellow Spot Whiskey; and Teeling's with food options such as slow-braised blade of beef with crispy ox tongue and chive mash; as well as confit pork belly with black pudding gnocchi on offer.
Lobstar, a lobster and steak bistro in Monkstown, has opened its doors. Run by Veronika and Zsolt Zakar, the restaurant serves shellfish dishes such as Galway Bay oysters with apple, celery, fennel and cucumber; butter-poached razor clams with mango and sea trout roe; and of course whole lobster with garlic, ginger and béarnaise sauce. Beef options include dry-aged rib-eye and fillet with cep and beef jus.
Eatgreek, a new restaurant specialising in authentic Greek cuisine, has opened in Glasnevin. It will be serving its signature dish of gyros as well as kefalotiri saganaki, moussaka, and soutzoukakia, a dish of cumin- and cinnamon-infused meatballs in a tomato sauce reports Dublininquirer.com. There will even be something for doughnut lovers as Eatgreek will be serving loukoumades with nutella.
Following a €100,000 investment, new Mexican restaurant Cantina has launched at Topaz Dublin Airport. It serves slow-cooked authentic Mexican-influenced dishes such as taco’s and burritos filled with chorizo con carne; beef and pork barbacoa; chicken Aasada; as well as burrito bowls.
A new speciality coffee shop called Granthams has opened on Dublin's Aungier Street. It will be serving coffee from Dark Arts Coffee, a roastery based in East London, and unique weekly latte offerings such as a 'Turkish Delight' latte which uses rose water-infused syrup dusted with 70 per cocoa. Lunch options on offer include ham hock sandwiches with tomato relish from Oxmantown and pastries from Arun Bakery.
