Deliveroo Expanding Into Limerick

Deliveroo, which today (4 May) celebrates its first birthday in Ireland, has unveiled plans for expansion into Limerick.

The on-demand delivery service, which partners with high-end restaurants that typically don't offer delivery, has signed up more than 200 Irish restaurants and created over 400 jobs to keep up with customer demand.

Its Dublin restaurants include the likes of Cocu, Osteria Lucio, Dillinger's, Cornucopia, Pitt Bros BBQ and Super Miss Sue. The company currently operates in 12 countries around the world and has four Irish locations based in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Belfast.

Deliveroo's General Manager of Ireland Oliver Dewhurst acknowledged that “Ireland has far exceeded our expectations. Our riders have covered more than 400,000 kilometers delivering meals to Irish homes and offices over the past year, the equivalent of circling the world nine times”.

The planned expansion into Limerick will happen in the coming months and will create 50 jobs.
