Ryanair Passenger Numbers Up 25% in January

Ryanair carried a total of 7.48 million passengers in January, compared to 5.98 million last year; a 25 per cent increase.

Load factor also increased by 3 per cent to 88 per cent, as the airline continues to see the results of its new, more customer-friendly image.

Speaking about the results, Ryanair's chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs said: "These record monthly numbers and load factors are due to the continuing success of our 'Always Getting Better' customer experience programme, which continues to deliver stronger than expected forward bookings, traffic and load factors."

The airline said its revenue for the three months to the end of December 2015 hit €1.33 billion, an increase of 17 per cent. Profits after tax jumped from €49 million to €103 million.

Despite falling oil prices and security threats in Europe affecting ticket prices, Ryanair bosses predict it will still achieve its profit targets for the year.
