The World Chocolate Masters (WCM), the premium international competition dedicated to the art of chocolate-making, will start in September of this year, and will hopefully feature a series of Irish chocolatiers. Entries are now welcome.
Cacao Barry, with the support of Callebaut and Carma, are seeking potential contestants who would like the opportunity to challenge themselves against the best chocolate professionals in the world.
The UK and Ireland national pre-selection of the WCM will take place in London. On the 18 February 2015, chocolate-making talents will compete to be awarded the title of UK and Irish Chocolate Master, before having the great chance to represent their country at the 2015 grand international final.
During this one-day contest dedicated to the creative use of chocolate under the theme "Inspiration from Nature", each contestant will have to make one chocolate showpiece and one moulded praline.
All new to this year, the Cake of the Day assignment will be prepared with daily fresh ingredients – the Chocolate to Go will be another new task in which participants will create a chocolate snack.
