Tourism Ireland Undertakes Sales Blitz To Boost Canadian Visitor Numbers To Ireland
Tourism Ireland, together with a delegation of 13 tourism companies from Ireland and Canada, is undertaking a four-city sales blitz in Canada this week, meeting with travel agents, luxury tour operators and group tour planners in the cities of Vancouver, Kelowna, Victoria and Toronto.
Tourism Minister Brendan Griffin will join the delegation in Toronto, where he will meet with leading travel trade and airline representatives, as well as influential travel journalists.
The sales blitz involves a workshop in each city, where the participating tourism companies will have the opportunity to network with, and sell to, hundreds of influential Canadian travel professionals – telling them all about the many opportunities Ireland offers for group and luxury travel, and highlighting experiences like the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Ancient East, Belfast and Dublin.
Dana Welch, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Canada, commented, "We are delighted that so many key decision-makers from the group and luxury travel sectors in Canada are taking the time to meet with our tourism partners this week, to hear about the many opportunities for travel to the island of Ireland. 2017 was the best year ever for Irish tourism from Canada – with visitor numbers increasing by around 12% over 2016. We will be pulling out all the stops in 2018, to keep the momentum going and ensure that growth continues."
