WOW Air To Cut Cork To Iceland Route In October

WOW Air has announced that it is set to cease its Cork to Reykjavik route after just five months of operation due to lack of demand.

A representative for the Icelandic airline told the Irish Independent that the service will be suspended for the winter on October 27, with a decision on whether to re-introduce the route next summer to be made some time in the autumn. WOW Air added that its Dublin to Reykjavik service will continue to operate as normal.

Cork Airport's managing director, Niall McCarthy, commented: "We are obviously disappointed at WOW Air's decision to suspend services on their Reykjavik service after October 27th due to lower than expected demands, despite extensive marketing in Ireland, Iceland and the US.'
