Alimentaria Announces Streamlined 2016 Event In Barcelona

The 40th Alimentaria International Food and Drink Exhibition is set to take place next year from April 25th to the 28th in Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue in Barcelona.

The upcoming event has been reorganised to strengthen not only its exhibition range, but to better position it for hospitality and food service industries, while maintaining its core elements showcasing the best in Spanish and international food.

Alimentaria has streamlined its exhibitions spaces from 14 to five, along with the Alimentaria Experience featuring gastronomic workshops and classes, and The Alimentaria Hub offering advice and consultancy services for companies interested in exporting.

Visitors can visit the Multiple Foods space for everything from Mediterranean specialities to functional foods, and even future food trends.

The Intercarn space is where all things meat will be exhibited, with Intervin showcasing wines, ciders and spirits and Interlact dedicated to dairy produce – with tastings of Spanish cheese at the ‘Spain, Land of 100 Cheeses’ stand.

Commenting on the event, Managing Director of Alimentaria J. Antoni Valls said it, “is strengthening the best production of the Mediterranean diet, preserves, confectionary and the rest of the production areas, and grouping them together with other related areas to give exhibitors the chance to multiply their synergies.”
