Powers Irish Whiskey Launch Limited Edition Whiskey For Bicentenary Of Licensed Vintners Association

Powers Irish Whiskey has launched Powers 1817 Release, a limited edition whiskey commemorating this year’s bicentenary of the Licensed Vintners Association (LVA), the representative body for the publicans of Dublin and one of the oldest trade associations in Ireland.

The limited edition release is a 10-year-old, single pot still Irish whiskey, a style of whiskey unique to Ireland and regarded as the truest expression of Irish whiskey, and is bottled exclusively for Dublin pubs for this year only. Triple distilled and non-chill filtered, the whiskey is characterised by full, spicy, complex flavours and with aromatics of vanilla, sweet fruits, herbs and spices.

Speaking about the launch, Claire Henry, Powers brand manager said: “Powers and Dublin’s pubs share a proud history and heritage that began in and continued through the golden era of Irish whiskey in the 19th century, the dark days of decline in the 20th century and has continued with the return to the glory days and the new renaissance of Irish whiskey in the 21st century. We look forward to this continued journey with the launch of Powers 1817 Release, an exclusive partnership with the LVA in 2017.”

The Licensed Vintners Association’s chief executive, Donall O’Keeffe added: “The LVA values the continued support of Irish Distillers. We appreciate the importance they have placed on our bicentenary by launching a special edition whiskey expression, Powers 1817 Release to mark this important milestone in our history. We look forward to Powers 1817 being served and enjoyed in the wonderful institution that is the Dublin Pub.”
