The team behind Van Gogh Dublin: An Immersive Journey at the RDS has announced that the blockbuster digital art show is returning to Dublin, this time as Dream Point After Dark, an adults-only evening experience at Dream Point, in Point Square, Dublin Docklands.
Running for a limited Christmas period, from 19 December to 4 January, Dream Point After Dark will allow visitors to experience Dream Point’s multi-room immersive playground without the daytime crowds, with the much-loved Van Gogh show now playing in the venue’s projection space as the centrepiece of the evening.
When Van Gogh Dublin: An Immersive Journey premiered in the Shelbourne Hall at the RDS in summer 2022, it drew rave reviews across Irish media, with impressive visitor numbers across its run (over 85,000 tickets sold).
Now, Irish brothers Dan and John Gleeson, the creators of the original Van Gogh Dublin RDS, the Theatre of Light, and now Dublin’s new Dream Point Experience, are bringing the acclaimed Van Gogh content back to the city, adapted for Dream Point’s projection room.
“Van Gogh Dublin was one of those rare shows people still talk to us about years later,” says Dan.
“We’re excited to bring it back to Dublin in a new way – a more intimate, adults-only evening where you can wander Dream Point’s rooms without the daytime chaos, then sink into the Van Gogh show with a drink in hand.”
The Van Gogh content, which uses floor-to-ceiling projections, rich soundscapes and digital animation to immerse visitors in iconic works such as Starry Night and Sunflowers, has been carefully readapted to work within Dream Point’s projection room, which normally hosts the venue’s immersive dinosaur show.
To encourage early booking, an introductory early-bird offer of 20% off is running from 15 to 17 December, at €16.72 per ticket (inclusive of booking fees).
From 18 December onwards, tickets will be set at €20.90 per person (inclusive of fees).
