New And Returning Air Services Announced For Island Of Ireland Airports

A number of new and returning air services have been announced for airports on the island of Ireland.

Dublin Airport

According to a statement published on DublinAirport.com, Air Canada has resumed passenger flights from Dublin to its west coast hub in Vancouver, following the resumption of its service between Dublin and Montreal on 2 June.

Minister Announces €4.9m Air Service Contract For Aran Islands

According to a statement published on Gov.ie, Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys has announced the awarding of a new €4.9 million air service contract for the Aran Islands (Oileáin Árainn).

The PSO contract, which is now in effect, will run for four years until 2026, according to the statement published on Gov.ie, which also noted that, for the first time, the contract ensures the provision of a direct service from the mainland to both Inis Meáin and Inis Oírr, and that the contract with Galway Aviation Services Limited, trading as Aer Arann Islands, follows extensive consultation with island stakeholders and a full procurement process, and will provide 68,274 PSO seats to the three Aran Islands annually, with flights operating from Aerfort Chonamara.

Ryanair Announces Its Winter Schedule For Ireland

According to a statement published on Corportate.Ryanair.com,  Ryanair has announced its biggest ever Irish winter 2022/23 schedule, which includes seven new routes from Cork to Newcastle and from Dublin to Castellón, Genoa, Klagenfurt, Rome Fiumicino, Rovaniemi and Venice, which brings Ryanair’s total winter 2022/23 services to and from Ireland to 156.

Shannon Airport

Shannon Airport operator Shannon Group has welcomed the announcement of a new direct Paris service from Shannon Airport. Vueling Airlines has been secured by Shannon Group to operate the twice weekly service to Paris Orly Airport on Mondays and Fridays starting from 12 September.

Belfast City Airport

According to a statement published on BelfastCityAirport.com, easyJet will operate a three-times weekly service from Belfast City Airport to Bristol from 7 September on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturday, and flights for this service are now on sale.
