Fitzwilliam Hotels Of Dublin And Belfast Undergoing €20m Expansion

Businessman Michael Holland is investing €20 million in expanding the Fitzwilliam hotels in Dublin and Belfast.

The Irish Independent reports that bedrooms and common areas at the five-star Fitzwilliam Hotel on Dublin's St. Stephen's Green will be given a complete revamp while an extra 50 bedrooms will also be added to the venue's upper floors, with work scheduled to start at the end of this year.

Meanwhile, the Fitzwilliam Hotel on Belfast's Great Victoria Street is due to complete work on an additional 23 bedrooms at the end of August.

Ampleforth Profits

The news of the refurbishment works at the hotels follows last week's revelation that the sale of Irish Welcome Tours helped to increase pre-tax profits at Holland's Ampleforth Ltd. almost threefold to €14.6 million last year.
