2018 Was A Record Year For Hotel Occupancy In Dublin

Data from travel research firm STR has revealed that absolute occupancy rose to 83.8% at Dublin hotels in 2018, which is the highest level for any year in STR's Dublin database at present.

The Irish Times reports that revenue per available room (RevPA) grew for the eight year in a row last year, increasing 7.2% on figures for 2017 to €121.70.

Boosted By Popular Events

STR analysts have attributed last year's strong statistics to a large number of events including the Six Nations Rugby Championship, the St. Patrick’s Festival and concerts from acts such as U2, Florence and the Machine, and Snow Patrol.
