Hayfield Manor Owners Plan To Open Five-Star Hotel In Dublin

The owners of Co. Cork's Hayfield Manor have announced that they are planning to convert St. Mary's College in the Dublin suburb of Donnybrook into a 195-bedroom, five-star hotel and spa.

According to Hayfield Family Collection financial director Mark Scally, the hotel's development would cost a minimum of €50 million. This is in addition to the €16 million that the Scally family paid for the site.

"A Full Service Hotel"

The Sunday Times quotes Scally as saying, "It will be a full service hotel, and we're aiming for five stars. We think the market is there for it."

The proposed hotel would also include a restaurant, bars, meeting rooms, swimming pool facilities, a tea room and an outdoor terrace.

Plans for the proposed hotel were submitted for approval last week.
