McKeever Hotels Celebrates 40th Anniversary

McKeever Hotels has announced that it will mark 40 years of business success through a 12-month programme that celebrates its past achievements and looks forward to further growth and development.

Founded by husband and wife Eugene and Catherine McKeever and now led by son Eddie and daughter Bridgene, the 40th-anniversary milestone coincides with the roll-out of the group’s strategic plan, with continued investment, expansion, performance and sustainability prioritised for the next five years.

Over the past 40 years, the leading hospitality group has expanded from buying Corr’s Corner, the busy restaurant and bar in Newtownabbey, in 1986 to becoming a multi-award-winning family business, with seven hotels employing 600 people across the island of Ireland.

“We’re always focused on the future and how we build and develop our business model,” said Eugene McKeever, “but we can’t do so without reflecting on our past.

“This milestone simply wouldn’t have been achieved without the dedication and commitment of our best-in-class team, as well as the trust and support of our guests, partners, and the communities where we are based.”

Fortieth-Anniversary Programme

To launch its 40th anniversary programme, the McKeevers have captured their story in a video, which explains their journey and their passion for hospitality.

In recognition of their customers’ support, the group is also calling for those who have a special connection to its hotels to share their stories, photographs and videos, with the material being collated, documented and displayed in the McKeever Memory Lane.

Robin Swann, MP for South Antrim, has marked the anniversary by submitting an early day motion to the House of Commons to ensure that the McKeevers’ success is formally recorded.

Swann said, “Reaching four decades of excellence within the Northern Ireland hospitality sector is an excellent achievement and a testament to your vision, hard work, and entrepreneurship.

“I wish you all continued success and growth for the future.”

A number of exclusive prizes will be awarded to those that best capture 40 years of great hospitality.
