Ireland To Be Showcased On Canadian Television

A popular Canadian daytime TV show, The Marilyn Denis Show, which has around 2.2 million viewers per episode, is filming in Ireland this week.

Tourism Ireland in Toronto, in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland, invited host Marilyn Denis and her production team to explore Ireland for the TV show, which airs on CTV and CTV Two. Denis and her team flew to Ireland on the new Air Canada flight from Toronto to Shannon. She is on a road trip taking in counties Clare, Limerick and Kerry, as well as Cork, where she’s joined by celebrity chef Clodagh McKenna.

Filming locations include Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, Moll's Gap, Blarney Castle, Ballyvolane House and The English Market. Their itinerary includes foraging, fishing and cooking. The resulting programme will air in March 2019, in advance of St. Patrick’s Day.

“We are delighted that The Marilyn Denis Show is filming in Ireland this week, it’s the kind of publicity that money simply could not buy and a superb way to highlight the south and west of Ireland to 2.2 million Canadians, positioning Ireland as a highly desirable place to visit,” said Dana Welch, Tourism Ireland’s manager Canada. “Publicity is an important element of our overall promotional programme, helping to raise awareness through the Canadian media of the many things to see and do on a holiday around the island of Ireland.”
