Domino's has exited Italy in the wake of franchise holder for Italy ePizza SpA filing for bankruptcy, according to the BBC.
COVID-19 Impact
As reported by BBC.com, ePizza SpA initially filed for bankruptcy in April due to the impact of COVID-19-related restrictions.
Company Statements
BBC.com quotes the company as saying, "The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent and prolonged restrictions from a financial point of view have seriously damaged ePizza."
The company also stated that it was facing growing competition as a result of traditional restaurants using delivery apps, according to BBC.com.
