The K Club Appoints Gary O’Hanlon As Executive Head Chef

The K Club in County Kildare has announced that Gary O’Hanlon has been appointed as the resort’s new executive head chef.

The award-winning Irish chef, broadcaster and columnist has taken the position at the five star estate following five years as head chef of The Condor at the world-famous Chateau du Coudreceau in France.

Prior to that, O’Hanlon was head chef of Viewmount House, Co. Longford from its opening in August 2008 through to 2018 where he won numerous awards such as the Georgina Campbell Hospitality Hero Award for services to Irish food.

'Very Excited'

“We are very excited to welcome Gary into his new role at The K Club," said Paul Heery, general manager at The K Club.

"We welcome Gary’s knowledge in seeking out the very best in locally produced seasonal ingredients, helping to continue to drive the food offering at The K Club."

TV Career

Originally from Ramelton, near Letterkenny, O’Hanlon has been a frequent fixture on Irish TV screens since 2008 with appearances on MasterChef Ireland, Four Live, The Today Show, Late Lunch Live, The Six O Clock Show, and is the resident chef on ‘The Restaurant’.

He also co-hosts the Podcast ‘Dishing It Out’ alongside fellow chef Gareth Mullins.

'Shining Example'

“If you’d told my younger self I would one day be executive head chef at The K Club I wouldn’t have believed you," said Gary O’Hanlon.

"The K Club is a shining example of hospitality in Ireland and one that I feel very proud to have been asked to become a part of."
