Deliveroo To Launch In Waterford

Food delivery firm Deliveroo has announced that it will launch in Waterford this month.

Deliveroo stated, "Following a strong half-year of growthDeliveroo has today announced that it is planning to expand its footprint in Ireland by launching in Waterford on the 26th August, as part of its broader expansion plans across the UK and Ireland.

"The increased investment in the Irish market will see Deliveroo work with more riders and drivers in the south-east region, in addition to where the company already operates in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway.

"Deliveroo, which launched in Ireland in 2015, works with more than 1,000 self-employed riders across these cities.

"The move into Waterford will open new work opportunities for people in the local community who want the freedom to choose when, where and how to work.

"In addition to working with riders, over 1,800 restaurants across Ireland partner with Deliveroo and thanks to the amazing riders, food and groceries are delivered to customers’ doors in as little as 20 minutes.

"Deliveroo's move into Waterford will also be a boost for local restaurants as the food delivery company helped many restaurants implement new delivery services to stay afloat when doors were closed to the public at the onset of the pandemic. By signing up with Deliveroo, restaurants can grow their business by widening their customer base and increasing sales."

50% Increase In Number Of Restaurants Joining Deliveroo

Deliveroo continued, "The company saw a 50% increase in the number of restaurants joining Deliveroo in Ireland since March 2020, including fried chicken business Mad Egg, Dublin Korean restaurant Kimchi Hophouse, dim sum specialist Lucky Tortoise, Offbeat Donuts, and Abbey St bar and restaurant Wigwam.

"Within the last month restaurants that signed up to the platform include KFC and WOWBurger. The company is already in the process of signing up potential restaurant partners in Waterford, offering them the opportunity to expand their customer base further than before."

Deliveroo Ireland Growth Manager Statement

Deliveroo Ireland growth manager Paddy Quinlan stated, "Deliveroo's arrival in Waterford is illustrative of its commitment to the Irish market. Since 2015, Deliveroo has become embedded in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway and now we’re looking forward to adding Waterford to that list. In addition to creating valuable opportunities for riders, our arrival in Waterford will be a boost to local restaurants who will be able to reach new customers and grow their businesses through food delivery."

Looking For New Riders

Deliveroo added, "Ahead of launching in Waterford, Deliveroo is looking to sign-up new riders and drivers to deliver food from restaurants and grocery retailers across the town to customers. To keep riders safe while out on the road, the company offers all riders and drivers free accident and injury insurance to ensure they are protected, as well as free training courses for riders and their families."
