New And Returning Air Services Announced For Island Of Ireland Airports

A number of news and returning air services have been announced for airports on the island of Ireland.

Belfast City Airport

According to a statement published on BelfastCityAirport.com, Aer Lingus Regional service operator Emerald Airlines is now operating flights from Belfast City Airport to Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford and Manchester, and it will commence services from Belfast City Airport to Glasgow and Exeter from 8 May.

The above news was followed by news that, according to a separate statement published on BelfastCityAirport.com, Flybe Ltd will add Belfast City Airport as its second main base of operations after Birmingham, with plans to grow, create more jobs and add more flights as the summer progresses.

A subsequent statement published on BelfastCityAirport.com said that Flybe Ltd has confirmed routes from Belfast City Airport to Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, London Heathrow, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Manchester, Southampton, Aberdeen, Inverness, and Newcastle, and that flights will commence on 13 April.

Belfast International Airport

According to a statement published on BelfastAirport.com, flights will operate from Belfast International Airport to a new cruising experience from Marella Cruises on the Marella Voyager from 2023.

Shannon Airport

According to a statement published on ShannonGroup.ie, Ryanair will launch a new service from Shannon Airport to Marseille in France on Wednesday 4 May, which will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The above news was followed by news that, according to statements published on ShannonAirport.ie and ShannonGroup.ie, daily Aer Lingus services from Shannon to London Heathrow have returned, as has the Ryanair service to Palma Mallorca, which is operating three flights per week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and Ryanair has commenced a twice weekly service to Malta from Shannon, which operates on Thursdays and Sundays.

These services are among 26 destinations that can be flown to from Shannon Airport this summer, according to the statements published on ShannonAirport.ie and ShannonGroup.ie.

All of the above news was followed by news that, according to other statements published on ShannonAirport.ie and ShannonGroup.ie, United Airlines has resumed a daily non-stop seasonal service between Shannon Airport and New York/Newark.

Dublin Airport

According to a statement published on DublinAirport.com, Emerald Airlines is now operating flights six times per week between Dublin Airport and the Isle of Man.

The above news was followed by news that, according to a separate statement published on DublinAirport.com, Aurigny is now operating flights three times per week between Dublin Airport and Guernsey.

City Of Derry Airport

According to a statement published on CityOfDerryAirport.com, Loganair will operate regular flights from City of Derry Airport to Edinburgh from 17 May.

Aer Lingus Summer Schedule

Additionally, according to a statement published on MediaCentre.AerLingus.com, Aer Lingus has commenced its summer schedule for 2022, which includes 71 routes and 62 destinations.
