Citywest Hotel Undergoes €13 million Upgrade

Citywest Hotel’s planned investment of €13m is well underway and will see a substantial upgrade to the hotel’s facilities.

The investment follows Citywest’s acquisition in 2014 by Tetrarch Capital, an Irish-owned property firm, whose hotel and leisure division, Tetrarch Hospitality, operates and manages the 764 bedroom hotel.

An upgrade of all of the hotel’s already spacious and well-appointed bedrooms is well progressed.

The hotel's public bars were refurbished earlier this summer and plans to open a new restaurant will coincide with the refurbishment of the hotel’s lobby, lounges, and all public areas by the end of 2016.

Construction of new access roads and an expanded carpark have already been completed.

The hotel’s facilities also include a championship 18 hole golf course and 20 meter indoor swimming pool.

Citywest Hotel stated it is enjoying a phase of growth with stronger occupancy levels and corporate events contributing to increased revenue of 20% last year. This has required a staffing increase of 20% over 12 months, with a team of 420 now employed at the hotel.

John O’Farrell, General Manager of Citywest Hotel said: "We are absolutely delighted with the upgrades being made to the hotel as part of this substantial investment. We pride ourselves in offering the highest quality stay to all of our guests. Under a new management team and new ownership, the Hotel has been transformed into the preeminent destination to hold events with style and scale."
