Green Light Given For New €80m Dublin Accommodation Development

Real estate investment firm Tetrarch Capital has been given the green light to go ahead with an €80 million construction project in Dublin city, which will include a 393-bedroom budget hotel, as well as a 202-unit aparthotel, ground-floor restaurant and 21-unit apartment block.

Planned to be built on a 0.5-hectare site bound by Moss Street, Gloucester Street and Townsend Street in Dublin 2, the development had been postponed last September by Dublin City Council in the wake of an appeal by the board of management at City Quay National School, as reported by The Irish Times.

However, with support from An Bord Pleanála, Dublin City Council has now approved Tetrarch's plans, with work on the project expected to begin in late 2018 and conclude towards the end of 2020.

While the name of the brand under which the budget hotel will operate has not yet been revealed, it is known that Staycity has signed a long-term lease to take control of the adjacent aparthotel.
