Revenues Rise At Dromoland Castle Company

New accounts for the company that operates Co. Clare's five-star Dromoland Castle hotel, Dromoland Castle Holdings Ltd, have revealed that the firm's revenues rose 4% to €22.59 million last year.

Meanwhile, the company's underlying profit came to €3.4 million and its staff count increased from 394 to 400.

Additionally, the company paid dividends of €378,816 during the year, and at the end of December, 2018, its shareholder funds amounted to €17.7 million. The latter figure included accumulated profits of €6.98 million.

"A Good Year"

The Irish Independent quotes Dromoland Castle general manager Mark Nolan as saying, "2018 was a good year, with revenues up. We have been focusing on growing our average room rate and we are on target to achieve that growth.

"There has been a small fall-off in occupancy as a result, but that is fine as we want to give a more personalised service and a better environment for our guests."
