Wetherspoons To Invest €15m In New Dublin 'Super Pub' And Hotel
JD Wetherspoon is set to start development work on its new €15 million Dublin city 'super pub' and 98-bedroom hotel in February 2018, with a projected opening date of early 2019.
Some 200 jobs will be created at the site, which is currently a row of derelict properties on the popular Camden Street in the capital

Late last year, Dublin City Council granted Wetherspoons permission to open the new €4 million bar and hotel on Camden Street despite concerns being raised by the council about the development back in March.

On the planned development, Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin (pictured), said: "We are looking forward to developing the site into a fantastic pub and hotel. It will be the biggest single investment undertaken by Wetherspoon and will result in our largest hotel alongside a superb pub. Our pubs in the Republic of Ireland are thriving and we are confident that the pub and hotel will be a great asset to Dublin and act as a catalyst for other businesses to invest in the city."

The pub will be set over two levels and feature a beer garden, while the hotel will also provide rooms accessible to people with disabilities. A number of historical aspects of the derelict buildings will be retained and restored, such as the circular stained glass window which was crafted by Earley & Company, while a chapel formerly owned by Little Sisters of Assumption will also be preserved and form part of the new venue.
