Planning Permission Approved For New 421-Bedroom Hotel Near Dublin Airport

The green light has been given for the development of a new 10-storey, 421-bedroom hotel close to Dublin Airport, following the withdrawal of objections submitted to An Bord Pleanála from local residents.

As reported by The Irish Independent, the proposed hotel, which is being developed by hotel firm Carra Shore, will encompass more than 31,000 square metres of space next to an existing Clayton Hotel in Clonshaugh, in close proximity to the junction of the M50 and M1.

After an initial application for planning permission was approved by Fingal County Council last year, An Bord Pleanála overturned the decision as a result of objections from local residents. However, Carra Shore submitted a revised application in January of 2018, reducing the proposed size of the hotel's site from 1.76 hectares to 1.35 hectares and, in the wake of the withdrawal of new objections over traffic concerns, Carra Shore has now been given the green light to proceed with the venue's construction.
