WestJet Announces New Route Between Dublin And Calgary, Canada

Canadian airline WestJet has announced it will be operating a new route between Dublin and Calgary in the Canadian province of Alberta from April of next year.

According to The Irish Independent, the route will run three times weekly and ultilise a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with seating capacity for up to 320 passengers.

"A Youthful, Vibrant City"

Commenting on the announcement, Dublin Airport managing director Vincent Harrison said, "Calgary, which has about the population as Dublin, is a youthful vibrant city, and is also a natural base for exploring the breath-taking Canadian Rockies."

Harrison added that approximately 21,000 people per year already travel between the two cities via indirect air services.

Departure Times

The new route will depart Dublin for Calgary at 13.45 on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays from late April, 2019, with Dublin-bound flights leaving Calgary at 20.45 on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays.
